Surprises
Surprise! That’s the word to describe today. Had a super long day at work and had to drive through city traffic in the heavy rain. When I walked into the house there was a black envelop which was distinctively PFF. I only submitted Media Pass application forms yesterday so it couldn’t be for media passes.
Surprise surprise. It was an invitation to the invitation-only launch party. I kid you not. I was genuinely surprised. Certainly, I didn’t expect this after my less than warm post on the public perception of PFF a few weeks back although I did post a happy one after the program launch. The thing is that I say what I think regardless.
I’ve got a bit of dilemma here though. The invitation says ‘black tie’. This means formal as far as I understand. However, I don’t have anything formal. Besides all that, I’ll be like fish out of water. Not only don’t I do well at parties but also I’m crap at mingling with formally dressed socialites and the like.
It may not turn out to be a problem since I’ll have to carry my camera which means I’ll be in my usual gear – casual attire with a pair of combat boots. I just hope they don’t reject at the entrance.
Another surprise came from Zoe who sent me a little handmade brooch with her label tag - Lonely 8-bit Heroes. Don’t I look just adorable ( if not me at least the brooch) wearing that on my hat? Zoe was making a collection of these pretty fabric flowers for a bigger project. Me being me.. I suggested making them into brooches and she did that just for me.
I’m sure you’ll get to see more of this during the Perth Fashion Festival 2010. You must her see Lonely 8-Bit Heroes as part of Collection 2 -the WA Designer Collections.
