Avant-Garde Fashion Show

I’m feeling pretty special tonight. I received a special invitation to a very special fashion show (inaugural should I call it), Avant-Garde, organised by three coolest places in Perth.

Headstuido, where I get my hair done by Taryn Thompson, _Dilettante_, a world class ‘fashion wonderland’ and Zekka, WA’s best dressed boutique 2009 and a boutique run by the nicest people I know got together to have their own fashion show.

I should have known when I was writing on the PFF 2010 program. The fact that they were not part of the festival was intriguing. Both Zekka and Dilettante were part of West End Haute last year and there’s no West End Haute in the program for PFF2010. Now we know why. This will be a truly exclusive event. The ticket is going for $120 each. What does it give you? Pre show drinks and nibbles, fashion and hair show and a private after party.

This will have to be a little different from regular shows from the festival. Remember, clienteles from the these two boutiques won’t blink an eye for the price of the ticket.

What I’m curious about this is that I had no idea that a show such as this was happening until I got promotional emails from Headstudio and Dilettante. I’ve met and been in touch with people in the industry but no one mentioned or hinted anything about Avant-Garde. Have they been keeping this as a big industry secret?! Well, they have been successful. This is an interesting partnership and it makes perfect sense to me. I guess the reason why I feel that way is due to the fact that they are aesthetically really well aligned. I’ve never met the owner of Dilettante so I can’t speak for them but for certainly Zekka and Headstuio they are a bunch of super stylish people. For that very reason alone I have no doubt that the show is going to be blast. Super stylish at least.

You know how cool hair shows can be thanks to Skatt who’s been organising Skattwalk annually. We now have Headstuio showing off their award winning talent as part of Avant-Garde. I hear that Arj Selvam’s designs will be showcased along with Headstuio’s creativity.
