ReFashion Week 2 and First Drop Out!
Big news! We had the very first Refashion drop-out this week. I didn’t think it was going to happen this quickly. No one expected Big Red (self assigned nick name) to be the first either.
Big Red had to pay her exit fee and wrote the following. Here I give you a narrative from Big Red with her permission. This is heartfelt. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Refashion Drop Out
There are two things I am not: A Domestic Goddess, or a Fashion Queen. I am just a humble human, with a limited fashion budget and a small wardrobe (literally, I don’t have the space!). Oh, and I hate housework. And THAT was the fundamental reason for my demise in this fashion challenge. I simply didn’t the time or the energy after getting home late, doing the food shopping AND cooking dinner, to then wash my clothes in order to have something to wear the next day. But not only that, I had made poor choices with my 6 items and felt uncomfortable and fashion-depressed (who would have thought wearing black and grey all the time would make me FEEL dull?).
Like I said, I don’t have a big wardrobe of clothes, but I do have a good range of staple pieces that I combine to make lots of different outfits, and I MISSED my outfits! I really missed my jackets (it’s winter after all) as I really hated being restricted with how I kept warm. I think if we did this challenge in summer it would have been a lot easier, not only do we have to worry about keeping warm, but we could simply cycle through 6 summer dresses!
What I have learnt from this challenge was to be smart with clothes I have, and accessorise! This challenge did not curb my need to buy new outfits (I will admit, I went out and bought two new scarves on the weekend) , but it has taught me how to be a smarter shopper. If you’re on a budget, a new scarf can jazz up an old outfit. If you can afford a fail-safe staple piece, then do it. This challenge also taught me that feeling good about what you wear really IS important. It gives you confidence and makes you happy. How can a male argue with that??

Talk about accessorise. When I saw this gorgeous button covered belt by our receptionist Amy I thought I must show this to you.
Daily photo shoot has been a great fun for everyone myself included. I also found out that Amy is a very crafty girl.
Unfortunately, the remaining 10 refashion ladies will have to do without me for two days as I’m taking a day off to cover STYLEAID tomorrow and taking some time off to process photos after that.
Big Red volunteered to do the dutiful photo shoots for the ladies.
