ReFashion and Bucking the Trend
11 ladies at work decided to recycle, reuse and refashion. They urged and ‘nearly’ pushed me to join the gang. The premise of ReFashion is this. They have to pick six items from the wardrobe. Wear only those six items for 20 working days. $20 entry fee and $5 exit fee. Whoever lasts the longest gets the lot. I said no way. The cause was noble – do you realise how much money we spend on clothes, shoes and other bits and pieces? It’s about time we realised how much we’re wasting.
All well and good. I can’t do it, though. I just can’t. Big part of my day starts with me standing in front of my massive wardrobe working out what to wear. It may seem very frivolous and superficial but that’s just how I start my day. I have absolutely no intention to start my day with only six pieces even if it was only for 20 days.
There was a bit of friendly criticism for not participating. No matter I didn’t budge. What I promised was to take decent photos of these fun and crazy ladies every day for 20 days.
Today was Day 4. It started out somewhat as a mug shot taking session but now it’s become a fun part of the day while everyone having a peek at what kind of crazy pose we’re going to witness.
While these ladies are sticking to only six pieces for the past week I’ve been receiving my purchases from eBay and All Saints.
It’s ironic really. Someone actually told me that I should start a series of posts on Anti-ReFashion.
I’m definitely bucking the trend. While I’m still gravitating towards mens wear these are the kind of stuff I wear (minus the high heels.. those I can’t do any more but I still like the look of them). I do have the very white boots, two dresses and the combat boots.
My guy also got into buying stuff online so here’s his recent acquisition. Yes, he does have a massive wardrobe now. Guess who’s fault it is? He told me today that he also has ‘boots’ addiction. Indeed that shoe addition is also contagious…

High Heels are from Street Moda. They are apparently ‘designed’ by Jessica Simpson.. who would have thought?? The grey coat is from jiniy.com. Brown mens boots are from Jump at Street Moda.
