I was not disappointed today. Everything was pretty much perfect. Finally, Perth Fashion Festival program is online right on time! It must have been a lot of hard work getting everything organised knowing what it was like last year. A few things changed. The program is bigger and that made a huge difference to the overall layout. It looks a lot less cluttered and it makes the whole thing neat. Now, the festival calendar is available as a separate page (as I suggested last year.. whether they remembered what I said or not…does not matter) although it’s just an image placed in an HTML page. Still much better than having to troll through many pages to find the calendar. Good….
What I like the most in this year’s program is the Face of PFF. Sarah Pauley. When I saw her last year she was an incredibly leggy model but looked really young. Maybe a little too young. Her photos are dotted around the entire program and I must say she looks totally cool and refreshing (not just a pretty face).
Even the media application is already available for a download. I feel good about this year’s festival. It’s going to be super (if I can score a media pass that is). Wish me luck.
Of course, PFF program launch can’t be without a parade with spunky models. Today we had glimpses of new spring and summer collections from AElkemi, Paper Skye, Leanne Lim, Little Gracie and the Cabbage and the Kings and others.
As our lord mayor, Lisa Scaffidi, mentioned during the ceremony PFF are three letters which do not need any accessories. 12 years on, it’s going stronger than ever it seems. There was a confirmation from one of the state government officials that there would be a funding for additional three years (maybe including this year? that makes it another two?). That’s good news. Interestingly, PFF recently recruited our local fashion advocate and the owner of Fashion WA, Jacqui Brown. I think that was a good thing. Knowing her and her professional experience to date would make her a good candidate for the festival.
Overall, it was a good launch and I’m really looking forward to the festival. Before that though I’ll have to do a good job of covering STYLEAID 2010, don’t I?.
P.S. You may wish to have a look at what last year’s program launch was like.
