ECU Contemporary Fashion – Bare Parade
My fear came true. I could hear music from distance and the wall in the room I was in was projecting what was happening in the other room. So that’s how the ‘parade’ began. Yes, it wasn’t a typical runway show. Yeah yeah, I always complain about this and that – bad lighting, difficult choreographies blah blah.
It was bloody difficult to shoot. If I was just there watching the show it would have been just fine. Anyway, 12 students with 12 acts were quite unique and entertaining. There were obviously a couple of crowd favourites.
Stephanie Rehnelt‘s woven garments were my pick. Lauren O’Grady‘s act was very curious and intriguing. Meghan Hosie’s set was the most amusing and entertaining one. Definite crowd pleaser. It was disco, hippy, grungy and retro.
I let you be the judge – I said that last night. What would you say?
Actually, I just came back from Skattwalk 2010 with 3000 images. It’s going to be a long night….
