Style Circle at Trappist on King 09
It is that time of year. Silly season. Lots of invitations to various ‘do’s where copious amount of drinks and finger food are served. We are reminiscing the past year and cheering for the new year to come. I may sound like a seasoned ‘end of the year party goer’ but I never had so many invitations to different functions in the past. Today’s little gathering at Trappist on King really marked the end of the year for me.
Style Circle started out as part of Perth Fashion Festival this year gathering people in the fashion and style industry. It not only offered an opportunity for people like me to mingle with the fashion creative but also created a platform to nominate WA Fashion Awards nominees and ultimately selecting winners.
Although there was a fashion parade I could have attended I opted to skip it and went to Style Circle drinks tonight. In the end, I was happy that I made that decision. I got to talk to Rachel Kemp from PFF and got some interesting information (PFF being a non-profit organisation – strange but I never knew that…). I also got to meet Karen Davies, the marketing director of PFF. It was a great surprise for me to get recognised by Claire Davies from the Sunday Times. (another one of those embarrassing moments). I also met the crew from Dilettante. Of course, my star, Aly May was there wearing her ‘huge’ signature necklace. Yes, it was really all about getting together with people to celebrate how successful PFF 09 was and looking forward to another year of fun preparation and a big blast in 2010.
So what’s special about the drinks with the Style Circle mob? Well, for me it was taking this picture of Caris Eves from Dilettante. Ah, interestingly quite a few people commented on what I was wearing as well – white M&S shirt Hong Kong with a 16 year old Emporio Armani jacket matched with cropped pants with side gatherings and a pair of olive coloured suede boots. After reading that you wouldn’t think we’re in the middle of Summer, would you? I’m still getting over my cough…Anyway, enough of what I was wearing. Enjoy Caris’ elegant blouse with high rise shorts. They wouldn’t work for me but it’s working perfectly for her.
