I was at the Perth babe central last night. Well, 'babe central' was coined by my guy after spending some time in Seoul where all girls dress up (and put make up on for a good measure) just to go to uni classes. To him, all the girls were gorgeous. Last night was a little different. I was at the launch party for Zara Bryson boutique which is due to open in Subiaco. When I received the invitation from Natalie Biagioni I didn't know what to expect. I seem to say that about all events I get invited, don't I?
The venue - Design Farm is actually a fancy furniture and interior boutique. The space was cleared to install a catwalk. Yay! Lucky that I had all my camera gear with me although it meant I was in my usual jeans and a shirt with flats (flat riding boots they were). It was such a funky venue because it had stylish design elements even after all the furnitures were removed.
The crowd - as I said, a total babe central. I've never seen so many gorgeous young men and women in one night. It seemed like I was the only yellow person (yes, Asian) there.. felt kinda strange. The crowd was huge and there was really no spot to move around as the night fell so I just got myself organised to have a nice spot right in front of the catwalk thanks to Jess and Natalie who organised a nice box for me to sit on.
The food - there was a guy shucking oysters and girls drinking Champaign. Need I say more?
Most importantly, the fashion - Zara Bryson will be stocking some fabulous Australian and International labels at her Subiaco boutique. The parade was all about giving a little taste of what to expect from her new boutique. It was interesting to see the huge rose necklaces from Antipodium styled with different outfits. I'm pleased to report that Zara's styles are quite fashion-forward. You can expect really interesting labels such as Illionaire, Magdalena Velevska, and big time designers such as Michael Angel, Karen Walker, and sometime new (to me anyway) such as Black Orchid Denim and House of Harlow.
Now I wonder about what the store would be like. Will report back after a visit soon.

Event was managed and organised by Natalie Biagioni, models provided by Secne, hair by Head Studio and finally the colourful brows (makeup) by Penny Antaur.
