Challenger TAFE 2009 Architextile Vol1

Posted by on Nov 19, 2009 in 2009, Graduate shows

Am I allowed to be a little lazy and just show you all? Picking favourites as I found out is a bit of painful process and takes a long time. It’s like shopping for shoes. I can’t just pick a pair. It’s gotta bit two then three. Back to one. Painful process. I decided that you’d get to see all 13 students’ work. I’ll give you some info on their inspiration (as shown in the program). You say what you want to say and let’s see how we go. We may get bored along the way (hope not), there might be some tears from excitement (jumpsuit does that to me) and hopefully some insight into fashion

Veronica’s garments were inspired by texture, lines, shapes and structure of architecture. she writes “the art or practice of designing & construction of building”. Does it make sense to ya? I see them all – lines, texture, shapes and structure so she wasn’t just doing the talking.

Anna Excell’s peachy spring and summer collection made quite a few of us excited. She simply put Feminine wiles in a masculine landscape in the description. So do they wile? I do think so.

Anna Bonna’s inspirations came from natural fabrics. Linen I presume. I love that red flow-y skirt.

Architecture in Love by Therima was inspired by the Taj Mahal and the Empress Mumtaz Mahal. Apparently, Taj was created for Mumtaz Mahal. There seem to be never ending repertoires of fashion when working oriental motives or concept. They all seem fresh and new although its been done millions of time I bet.
