Sophie Kyron’s Angels and Asp 2010 collection
Just so you know, Sophie Kyron was the winner of the Fine Details Awards at the 2009 WA Fashion Awards. That’s just a fact. But are you thinking what I’m thinking? Well, I want them all even if I don’t get to wear them every day.
I saw Aly May wearing one of Sophie’s pieces at the Award night. I should have grabbed a pic there and then but I missed out. I know these kinds of big neckpieces are so in at the moment and girls might be clamouring for mega expensive designer pieces. Maybe Sophie’s pieces could be nice alternatives to those unreachable designer labels. Having said that these are not cheap. The piece below is just a few bucks shy of AUD$800. I guess it all depends what your budget is for statement pieces such as these.
I absolutely loved her designs at the Perth Fashion Festival 2009. I loved it when I first saw at the program launch and loved more at the collection show. Sadly, her website doesn’t represent what you see here. That’s typical though. What I find is that creative peoples’ websites are created by those who don’t understand the artists. More often than not it’s done by tech people who know very little about the actual creative business. Anyway, I’d love to visit her store in Swanbourne and see other designs by Sophie. I hope you’re interested….are you?
