STYLEAID 2009 Runway Photos – 2Wink, Costarella and Antipodium
STYLEAID 2009 parade started with a bunch of hot guys in their jocks, literally. 2Wink, West Australian men’s underwear label, opened the show with such a cheer. As you’d guess, the guys were fake ‘tanned’ using golden powder from MAC as shown in backstage photos. They were in their jocks I think at least for six hours. Quite an effort considering that it wasn’t that warm..
The cheer then quickly turned into ‘woo waaa’ when one of the designs from famous (he is in AU as some Hollywood muses wore his gowns), Aurelio(Ray) Costarella appeared. I must admit I haven’t even walked into his famous boutique in North Perth. Simply because I don’t need to. Normal folk like me don’t get a chance to wear garments such as these. I’m thinking of visiting the store though. If I’m lucky I might even get to meet Mr. Costarella himself. Who knows?
Antipodium, however, is a different story. I can see myself in these. Slightly grungy and fun. Again, I haven’t been to any of its stockists (David Jones, Never End Retail, and Periscope) yet. Antipodium is one of those labels I would like to check out soon.
Tomorrow, I’ll be showing you Empire Rose, aelkemi and Alister Yiap or maybe more.. There are 20 more designers so quick maths tell me that my STYLEAID runway report is going to run at least for 7 days. Will it be too boring for ya? Hmmm hope not.
Interestingly, I got in touch with the Creative Director of STYLEAID, Aly May after the show. In between these runway image posts, I might slot in some interesting facts about STYLEAID for you after my little interview with Aly. All I know about STYLEAID is what I’ve written a couple of weeks ago which I say was meagre at its best.
As usual, I have all of these photos in Flickr in a separate set so click the image below to access.
