Fresh, I meant literally because they are young. Why JACK? Jacqueline, Alister, Celia and Kelly. They studied together at Curtin University. Talented designers in their own right, got together to create a jewellery line that exudes quality but with affordable prices. How? Quality designs with cheaper materials.
When I first saw these pieces I couldn't believe the price tags. I then realised the silver pieces were not actually silver. They are bold and some might say they've seen similar designs before. I say Yes and No. Costume pieces are by nature big and bold. We've seen similar stuff but designer inspired pieces are everywhere and I must say these are done well. For less than $50 a pop, these are good value to my mind.
There are several reasons why Jack Be Nimble caught my eyes.- Branding: These guys got their branding down pat. Business cards, their 'uniform' with their logo and presentation of their pieces. I haven't quite seen anyone that organised in unwrapped market place before. They weren't put together carelessly either. It's all streamlined and appropriate.
- Quality vs. price: as I said, they don't look cheap but they are not expensive.
- Talented and clever: Guys have their own labels and they are also doing their own thing at the same time. For example, Alister already has three other labels and I absolutely love his fine jewellery line. He also designs pieces that guys can wear. Check out his collection at MOOSE.
When I was at Unwrapped South Perth I nearly bought the second piece of Alister's design. They only took cash and I only had some plastic cards on me. They are useless sometimes. No doubt I'll get some soon. Knowing my necklace rack you'd know I could do with a lot more pieces.
Just a little thing they failed to do is building a website that Google can find. Unless you know the address you can't actually search Jack Be Nimble and find their website. That's because these daft young people didn't make the site search engine friendly - just a simple thing of having text as text rather than image would have helped. Oh well, no one can be perfect...

You're right, they don't look cheap at all. They look great.
have a great weekend Songy ;-))))
wow! this is my kind of jewelry. Unique but sophisticated and wallet friendly. I'm liking 2-4 in the first set. the 2nd and 3rd in the second set. and the last one in the last set.
Those are really really striking...and at a reasonable price too!
I'm pretty sure I went to school with Alistair Yiap. Pretty wild jewelry.
yes wild is the word.
x
You know I can't resist fabric and jewelry--these are too cool. & the black elongated beads/tubes are so stark and graphic--just love it.
