WAIFT 2008 Introducing Jessica Rabbit by Nicole Tomasso
Jessica Rabbit by Nicole Tomasso had the pefect ruffle top and I wasn’t the only one drooling over that ensemble, might I add.
Introducing Jessica Rabbit by Nicole Tomasso
- Inspiration – Where did they get the initial couture and RTW concept from?
Inspiration for my couture came from the whole idea of the greek gods, kind of typical I know.. but I liked the idea of Aphrodite, Venus and all that jazz. The golds, and purples and whites, everything so soft and angelic. I kinda of went a stray with my RTW, and I’m glad I did because my couture turned out different to what I had anticipated!
- What made you to study fashion? Why at Swan TAFE?
Swan TAFE has always had a fantastic reputation when it comes to their fashion course. I did always want a degree and maybe one day ill pursue that dream but I realised a fashion degree wasnt as recognized in the industry as a diploma at WAIFT. To be honest, I am a Bold and the Beautiful FAN! Ever since I was tiny, and realised after watching the Forrester and Spectra fashion houses competing in the show, that this was what I wanted to do.
- What’s happening now since the show?
No plans yet. I’m going to take it as it comes, but ideally I would love to own my own label.
- What’s your long term plan?
Label label label! And worldwide success please
- Do you have a web site or a blog?
At the mo, no.
- What would you do differently if you have to start all over again?
My couture I would change!! Haha. Other than that, I wouldn’t have it any other way

No wait… I would make sure my dressers backstage knew what they were doing, one of my dresses came out wrong
- Your favorite Australian designer(s)?
I loooovvee Alex Perry! His designs are just to die for. So sexy and feminine.
- Your favorite place(s) to shop in Perth?
Mmmm Subiaco and Leederville are always great places. But iv been cooped up in my house sewing this past year that iv forgotten all the hot spots.
Nicole, I think you will have your label soon. Before that you might want to start selling that ruffle top ensemble!
