Couture Carrie’s post “Now, it’s Personal!” gave me the idea. Do you see what this is? Well it’s not really too difficult to guess. It’s weekend after all so I’m not going to torture you by saying ‘I will reveal the answer next week’.
This interesting artwork is located at Gallery Cafe in WA Art Gallery in Perth. I find it really amusing. Coffee cup artwork at a cafe, too appropriate, wouldn’t you say?
You really need to see the work from distance. And I’m sure that thing draws people into the cafe! Oh, while we are at this, how do you like these white chairs? These lovely chairs are made by Pedrali in Italy. When I first sat on one of them I fell in love so I flip a chair over to see where they came from. I tracked down a local distributor and I got myself 8 of those cool chairs last year! I’m sitting on one right now as I write this post. In case you are wondering the model is Ice 800. Have a great weekend, folks!

oooh how fantastic!! and love the chairs!
That is a beautiful piece and I like the cool minimalism of the chairs. Cannot believe they are comfortable? really? okay. Even better. How’s the coffee?
xx
Great piece of art. How nicely they have worked with the coffee cups.
Now I have no conditions, but I used to make sculptured ceramic pieces, pretending they were art pieces. Now I write some “poems” in my mother language off course, and try to play with colours in my outfits, so my artistic vein can be shouted. Not always succed…
I’m surprised that the chairs are confortable, but there aren’t like italian designers to make furniture artistic and comfy.
(Maybe I shoudn’t had take that “conceptual fashion” so seriously also. But when I saw that, I couldn’t think besides what they were doing to woman dignity, also the legend saying “Mr Ed….” provoked a big reaction on me. But now people know where I stand. I’m all for Art, but there are some values I preserve more.)
Hope you’re having a very nice weekend, dear.

Very cool! I still can’t figure out what it is supposed to be.
And the chairs are lovely, really cool you did all that to have them yourself.
Oh I love modern art, like art made out of coffee cups!
I can’t figure out what it is though, which will most likely drive me nuts… I’ll be here 30 minutes later, still staring at these pictures you posted!

what an amazing wall of coffee cups, a fantastic work of art. Looks like a really nice café
I wish there was a cool café near me that had art like that on the walls, and cleanly-designed chairs to sit on!
Ladies.. stand up from your chair and step backward a little away from the monitor and squint.. you will see a certain (famous) actress.
Cool!
thanks for your sweet comment!
in malay we say: selamat hari raya
Haha, thats sooo funny! Love the chairs, totally get why you got them.
That is an incredible portrait! Post-modern pointillism?

And also NICE EYE on those zippered designs you sent; I am not sure where to find them either, but i will keep an eye out! Looooove the jeans in particular!

Ah, Songy, I see it now!! How cool is that? So crazy how up close it just looks like a bunch of randomly arranged coffee cups, but back up and it the image is clear as day, and beautifully, and quite clever too!
Thanks for your comments, by the way, always love to hear from you!

that is bloody brilliant…
That’s a really nice display. Creative and very visually appealing.
That coffee cup artwork is no cool – did you know you can do something similar with plastic tumblers and chain-link fence?
It can look amazing!
now my question is this: do they take the cups off the wall to put the coffee in? or is it 100% decoration?
such a nice place is it!
Love those chairs! Very jealous that you are sitting on one (I’m sitting on a white Ikea chair- not quite the same
Love the coffee mug art too!
I love the coffee cup thing!!

Def a brilliant way to attract people! It didn’t even look like cups from afar! I love the colors of the cups too!
Hey!! This is the first time i've commented but I found your blog a couple of weeks ago & have been reading ever since. I linked to you on my site! I love your posts! I visited Perth in December and visited this art gallery
It took awhile for my eyes to adjust but I see who the actress is now-don’t want to give it away-very cool-as are the chairs.
p.s. so what does kimchi mean anyway?
wooh, Songy I luv this very-very much!
Is that you Maryln Monroe??? I need to buy more different colour cups now!
I saw window display done using colored tic-tac mints packages…& my jaw dropped too! Hee*
Cheers to all the creative doers in the world!!!
I wouldn’t realize it was cups from far away and wouldn’t notice the picture if I was up close. How cool.

cup art in a cup coffee caffee…
great idea. it is almost like you are in london.
What a fantastic idea — so clever.
coffee cup artwork
i like that name
cafe art is so chic i think.
it gives the cafe character.
I like it a lot.
I like the whole cafe, it looks great, white chairs and everything. Is there a glass wall between the inside and the outside? I’d like to think that there isn’t.
