Finale – Perth Fashion Festival 2008
There was really no official finale as such. I believe there was an after-party on Friday after the awards ceremony but I had to give it a miss as I wanted to leave early to download pictures and deliver the news to you (along with all other reasons) that night.
As a newbie blogger it was a fantastic opportunity to attend all of the interesting shows and get to meet some fabulous people. The people I met were incredibly generous, interesting and most of all passionate about what they do. The energy they give off is just so positive and I felt this great sense of ‘living’ rather than ‘dragged on’ by daily grunt. I’m sure that some of you will know exactly what I mean. Sure there was the ‘festival fever’ to a certain degree but the friendship I developed during the festival with these fab people will continue and we will again have a good time next time around. I have to thank the PR agency, Professional Public Relations, for considering me as part of media and granting me the media passes.
This is my tribute to the great media crew who welcomed me into the gang and made the festival so special for me and for my Esteemed Readers.
The gang on the Designer Collections night. It was really all about waiting around.
- Stefan Gosatti and Richard Jefferson
- Courtney McAllister from 92.9
- Alf Sorbello from Sunday Times
- David Broadway
- Alex Howell
- Marita Bird
- John Koh
- Karen Cheung and others. Thank you!
Runway model of the year 2008
Emile Cattermole is the winner of the Perth Fashion Festival Runway Model of the Year Award for 2008. She’s got the look, personality and she can ‘walk’. She looks to me like a delightful person to work with. I wish all the best in her endeavour to become a world class model! Maybe she is one already?

September 14, 2008This “Esteemed Reader” is glad to see another model with flesh on her bones. I really like how, in Australia, the skinniness problem has not yet reached epic proportions like it has here.
Thaks for all the great coverage of PFW, Songy. I’d never have seen any of this if it weren’t for you!

September 15, 2008Wow the Perth Fashion Festival looks like such an amazing time! Glad you got to go and get such a great experience!
“The energy they give off is just so positive and I felt this great sense of ‘living’ rather than ‘dragged on’ by daily grunt.” And I know exactly what you mean ^^… that’s something I’ve always feared, ending up in a position of continous ho-hum life… I hate seeing people live (or should I say, not live) like that!
