Day 5 Perth Fashion Festival 2008 – Popsicle Fashion Store
If you are living in Perth this is the time to go out and enjoy the spring sun.
Today I took some time off work and went out to Northbridge. Northbridge is an entertaining hub of Perth. Here, the Perth Fashion Festival setup a temporary boutique for the duration of the festival. There is only a week left to go so if you haven’t been down there, go on make a trip down there. For my Esteemed International Readers, there is a very cool website to peruse.
Fridge magnets to collect! The artwork by Creepy
If you are a collector of funky fridge magnets there is another cool reason to get out there because all funky places on William Street got together and created fridge magnet art. Each piece can collected in participating venues. What a clever idea!
Back to Popsicle, independent WA designers got together to create this wonderful space. You will find one of kind pieces there. It was a funky space. It’s sad that they are not going to continue. I saw some interesting necklaces, bags and dresses that I could really boogie in. I was so happy that I made it out there. After an excessive amount of glitz it was an interesting change and I felt a lot of creative energy not only from the space but also from beautifully designed pieces. You can see more of Popsicle photos in my flickr album.
How to get there:
It’s very close from the train station. Right across from Brass Monkey.
The boutique has a very small sign so I nearly missed it.

September 9, 2008Temporary boutiques are an interesting concept; they create urgency that regular brick-and-mortar shops can’t.
I love those slouchy bags!
